What you're receiving

Sacred words, closely read

A monthly letter shaped around a word, passage, question, or phrase, approached with curiosity, reverence, and room to wonder.

Context without performance

Historical background, language notes, and old meanings gathered for ordinary readers — not as a sermon, and not as an academic paper.

Something real to keep

A physical letter sent by post, made to be read slowly, marked if you like, saved, and returned to when a word needs more time with you.

What you'll find inside

Each month centers on a word, passage, phrase, or question worth giving more time.

Alongside the letter, you may find a passage card, word card, manuscript detail, map, timeline, papyrus piece, or other paper inclusion chosen to belong with that month's theme.

The envelope is meant to feel considered, not crowded: a letter and a few paper objects with room to stay with you.

From a letter

“My dear reader, I am learning that some words are too old and too alive to be handled quickly. Makários is one of them. Blessed, yes — but not cheaply blessed. Not lucky. Not merely happy. A word with weight, history, and an invitation to slow down…”
